New Learning Opportunity: Improve Athletic Performance Through Nutrition

The dietitians and nutrition researchers of the Canadian Sugar Institute are excited to share details about a new learning opportunity from the Performance Nutrition Academy Ltd. in partnership with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP).

The online modules in this CSEP Sport Nutrition Education Series start with the basics to build an evidence-based foundation and continue with more advanced information to allow exercise-related professionals to construct a nutrition strategy to advance athletic performance, minimize risk for injuries, and maintain their health.

Improve athletic performance through nutrition - new course from CSEP and PNA

Participants can choose from a number of individual courses or bundles to learn the latest nutrition information to support them on a variety of topics, including:

  • The focus on carbohydrates;
  • Nutrition for pregnant athletes;
  • Illness and injury management;
  • Nutrition & environmental conditions;
  • Vegetarian and vegan diets;
  • Nutrition for the travelling athlete; and
  • Hydration & temperature regulation.

The content of the courses was created by two Registered Sport & Performance Dietitians, Angela Dufour and Nancy Fong, who have over 25 years of experience in the field, and has undergone a rigorous review process by a panel of CSEP topic experts to ensure scientific accuracy. The content will be continuously reviewed and updated to reflect new and emerging scientific evidence, guidelines, and recommendations.

The courses, available on the CSEP store, are open to all interested exercise-related professionals looking to help improve their athletes’/clients’ health and performance through sports nutrition. Use the code CSI10 at check-out for a 10% discount until the end of April.
